Data Protection & Confidentiality

I take data protection and confidentiality seriously and handle all information in accordance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and professional best practice.

Information I Collect

I only collect information that is necessary and proportionate to provide the agreed services. This may include personal data, special category data (such as information relating to children or proceedings), and documents relevant to legal matters.

All data is obtained directly from the client or with the client’s express authority.

How Information Is Used

Client information is used solely for the purpose of:

providing agreed paralegal or administrative support

preparing drafts and documents under client instruction

supporting procedural understanding and case organisation

Information is not shared with third parties unless:

the client has given clear prior consent, or

disclosure is required by law

I do not use client data for marketing or any unrelated purpose.

Storage & Security

All data is stored securely using appropriate technical and organisational measures. Electronic files are password protected, access is restricted, and information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary.

Hard copy documents are avoided wherever possible and, where used, are stored securely.

Confidentiality

All work is undertaken on a strictly confidential basis. I do not discuss cases with third parties and do not contact opposing parties. Where I work alongside legal professionals, information is shared only as required and with appropriate authority.

Client Responsibility

Clients are responsible for ensuring that documents they provide are accurate and that they approve all final drafts in writing. Once approved, documents are treated as the client’s own.

Data Rights

Clients have the right to request access to their data, request corrections, or raise concerns about how their information is handled. Any such requests will be dealt with promptly and appropriately.
